Climax #212 Wild Goose Railroad

This image is of the 3' narrow gauge Class A #212 built for the Wild Goose RR near Nome, Alaska, in 1900.  In this image, a hose is being dropped into the river to siphon water into the water cistern.  The diamond stack suggests a wood burner, which raises some questions, since there is a lack of trees in this area.  Note the very open cab with just side curtains for this a bit less than hospitable climate.
